| The standard was formulated for the purpose of enforcing Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China, Law of the People's Republic of China on Prevention and Control of Water Pollution and Marine Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China, promoting sustainable development of China's sapogenin industry and the capability in pollution control, safeguarding human health and maintaining ecological balance. This standard provides the upper limit of allowed daily water discharge per ton of products, average daily concentration limit of water pollution control and allowed total water pollutant discharge per ton of products for sapogenin industrial companies in two different time period. It applies to water pollution management of saponin manufacturers and companies only producing hydrolyzed saponin, environmental impact assessment on construction projects of saponin industry and water pollution control and management of the design, check upon completion and operation of environmental protection facilities. Saponin industrial companies shall implement the standard for pollution discharge upon its promulgation as a replacement for related discharge limit set in GB8978. |
