Abstract:
 
The current standard is formulated for the purpose of implementing Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China and Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Atmospheric Pollution, preventing and controlling pollution by motorcycles and mopeds and improving ambient air quality. The current standard specifies the limits and measurement methods for exhaust emissions from motorcycles and mopeds at idle speed and high idle speed. The current standard is applicable to type verification and production consistency check of motorcycles and mopeds equipped with spark ignition engine as well as check on emissions of in-service motorcycles and mopeds. The current standard is the amendment of Limits and Measurement Methods for Exhaust Emissions from Motorcycles and Mopeds at Idle Speed (GB 14621-2002). The Limits and Measurement Methods for Exhaust Emissions from Motorcycles and Mopeds at Idle Speed (GB 14621-2002) shall be nullified since the date when the current standard goes into effect.
