Emission standard for pollutants from coal industry
(GB 20426-2006 partially replacing GB 8978-1996 GB 16297-1996 and Put into effect as of October 1, 2006)
Abstract:
This Standard is formulated for the purpose of controlling the pollutants from mining and processing of coals as well as from storage and load & unload sites, ensuring public health, protecting eco environment and facilitating sustainable development of coal industry in line with such laws such the Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China and the Law of the People's Republic of China, Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Water Pollution, Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Atmospheric Pollution and Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste. The current Standard specifies the discharge limits of water pollutants from coal mining and washing, emission limits of air pollutants from ground coal production systems as well as technical requirements for the control of the pollutants from coal gangue stockpile, coal storage and load & unload sites of coal mining and processing enterprises. The current Standard is applicable to pollution prevention and control of existing coal mines (including open pits), coal washing plants and their coal gangue stockpiles, coal storage and load & unload sites as well as EIA, design of environmental protection facilities, environmental check & acceptance of completed construction projects in coal industry and post-construction pollution prevention and control.
