Technical guidelines for environmental impact assessment format and content of environmental impact reports for nuclear power plants

This standard is formulated for the purposes of enforcing the Environment Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China, Radioactive Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People’s Republic of China, Environmental Impact Assessment Law of the People’s Republic of China, and Regulations on the Environmental Management of Construction Projects, and considering the specific circumstances of nuclear power development, set standards for the environmental impact assessment of nuclear power plant projects. This standard specifies the requirements for the preparation of the environmental impact reports of construction projects of nuclear power plants. The appendix to this standard is normative. This original version of this standard was released in 1988. This version is the first amendment. It was proposed by Department of Nuclear Power Safety Regulation under Ministry of Environmental Protection, and drafted by Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center, MEP under the organization of the Ministry’s Department of Nuclear Facility Safety Regulation and Department of Science, Technology, and Standards. It was approved by MEP on June 24, 2016 and shall take effect as of October 1, 2016.
