As a follow-up of the "Green Olympics Related Books Entering School Campus" held on July 13, the Contest on Solicited Environmental Protection Related Contributions for Green Olympics among Youth across the nation is organized by the All-China Environment Federation (ACEF) and China Mobile Communications Corporation. In order to insure the welfare-oriented nature and fairness of the activity, an Organizing Committee for the Contribution Solicitation was especially set up chaired by the Vice President and Secretary-general of ACEF, Mr. Zeng Xiaodong, Mr. Li Hengyuan, Deputy Secretary-general of the ACEF, was the Chair of the Appraisal Committee. In addition, 10 experts formed the appraisal team for the activity. The general principles for the appraisal were defined from five aspects of the pertinence of the theme, environmental protection awareness, literariness and innovation of the content and the value of popularization of the contribution.

This activity has altogether received almost 14 thousand contributions, among which 10.6 thousand were up to the standard. Following the review and appraisal in several rounds by the Organizing Committee, 1 Special Prize, 3 First-class Prize, 6 Second-class Prize and 100 Third-class Prize as well as 23 Excellent Organization Prize were selected.

The Prize Awarding Ceremony was held at the China National Children's Center in the afternoon of November 29. Officials from the SEPA, Ministry of Education and the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad as well as around 400 student representatives attended the Prize Awarding Ceremony.
