On January 22, 2008, China Environmental Protection Foundation and Shanghai General Motors jointly organized the activity of "Green Future--Selection of the Best Business Plan for Green Start-ups in 2008" in Shanghai. This activity marks the beginning of the activity of "Green Future--Selection of the Best Green Investment Idea in 2008" supported by the Green Public Interest Fund established by China Environmental Protection Foundation and Shanghai GM. The establishment of the "Green Public Interest Fund" aims to facilitate all social forces in particular industry and commerce circle to actively take part in environmental protection in China, advocate enterprises and citizens to shoulder more social responsibilities and fulfill their environmental protection obligations. At the same time, it will provide consultations, capital, technology and network support to business pioneers and help them to start green business.

The activity of "Green Future--Selection of the Best Business Plan for Green Start-ups in 2008" will formerly accept the registration from Feb.15, 2008 and is going to end on June 5 (World Environment Day) with the period of nearly 4 months. This activity will select and award the creative programs that innovate or improve technologies, conduct environmental management and recycling and reuse of resources in commerce, trade and services. "Green Public Interest Fund" will help the winning programs with the necessary fund for the initial stage, which facilitates the achievement of "starting green business" dream. Participants may submit the business plan focusing on environmental protection. Top 20 business plans will be selected and share the 1 million yuan award.
