• Organize and coordinate the research on and introduction of environmental technologies;
• Organize key projects concerning science and technology breakthroughs and technical demonstration projects;
• Manage the achievements of environmental science and technology;
• Develop standards of environmental industry;
• Undertake the filing of local environmental standards;
• Manage the certification of environmental labels nationwide;
• Set up and organize the implementation of the certification system of environmental protection qualification;
• Guide and promote the development of environmental industry and manage the work on national environmental monitoring.
